I do not collect or store any personally-identifying information about your visit to this blog. If you leave a comment, or subscribe to blog posts via email, that information (including your email address) is visible to me, but I will not use it for any commercial or technical purpose.
I am not responsible for republished content from this blog on other blogs or websites without my permission.
This site (reghanskerry.com) is a participant in the Bookshop.org Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Bookshop.org. For every purchase made using these links, I receive a small commission, and a matching commission goes to support independent bookstores.
I love to hear from you! Seriously: a good comment can make my day.
On the other hand, there’s a reason why “don’t read the comments” has become such a cliché.
With that in mind, I want the comment section here and on my social media accounts to be a friendly, welcoming, helpful place. This is my site, and I will enforce certain rules in the comments.
This site uses Akismet to reduce comment spam. In addition, comments by first-time posters, comments that contain a word or phrase that I’ve blacklisted, or which include too many links will automatically be held for review. As long as your comment fits within the guidelines above, I’ll approve it as soon as I can (generally within an hour or two, during normal business hours).
Sometimes technical (or human) glitches can occur. If your comment hasn’t appeared within a day or so—assuming everything else is in order—please feel free to repost it! (If it still doesn’t appear, you might want to reconsider. If you’re absolutely sure it didn’t violate any of the rules, send me an email, and I’ll take a look.)
I have a zero-tolerance policy for:
- Derogatory comments or hate speech.
- Anonymous comments or bots.
- Trolling in general.
Comments that fall into any of these categories—assuming they make it past the initial moderation—will be deleted, and the poster will be blocked from further commenting.
In addition, comments may be deleted if they:
- Aren’t relevant to the original post. (If you want to talk about something I said two months ago, send me an email instead.)
- Contain an unreasonable amount of self-promotion. (If the only reason you’re posting is to sell something or link to your own blog, I’m not interested. No sales pitches or affiliate links.)
I’m the one who makes the final decision.
There are no hard-and-fast rules about what constitutes ‘spam’ or ‘trolling.’ I won’t over-moderate, but I will err on the side of caution, and I ask you to do the same. If you’re not sure how a comment will be received, consider rewriting it to remove that doubt.
I reserve the right to edit comments.
I probably won’t, but if it’s necessary, I may edit for language, or to remove the aforementioned self-promotion in an otherwise relevant comment.
Repeat Offenders Will Be Banned
If you repeatedly post spammy, hurtful, or off-topic comments, you will be banned. If I think you’re acting in good faith, I may issue a warning, and your future comments will be held for moderation, but this is entirely at my discretion.
Comments are closed after fourteen days.
