Project366: #11-20

Black and white photo of an ornamental shrub (leaves only) by Reghan Skerry

This is where things start to get tricky. I’ve been taking photos every day for three weeks, and… I’m starting to run out of ideas.

I’ll get over it. When the temperatures are a little less frigid and the entire outdoors is a little more interesting, I’ll have plenty of ideas. But right now, I’m mostly stuck indoors and I kind of feel like I exhausted most of the interesting subjects back in 2017. (Which is weird, because I’ve actually made a lot of changes around here in the past year. There are new photos to be made, I just have to find them.)

That said, I am really glad to have found something botanical I can photograph in black and white (still my favourite thing), and the picture of Lucy is pretty much the best visual depiction of her personality I’ve ever seen. (Even if it does remind me that I really need to get around to painting the rest of the apartment. That wall colour is awful.)

(Project366 runs from 23 January 2019 through 23 January 2020. I’ll posting to Instagram daily, and rounding up the photos here every ten days.)

  1. So many interesting textures.

    1. Thanks! That’s one of my favourite things to explore in photography.

  2. Love the cat picture, it just captures curiosity. Stay inspired, Reghan!

    Best,

    Ernesto

    1. Thanks! Lucy’s a challenge to photograph (partly because of her colouring, partly because of her personality – she actively avoids the camera), so I’m always happy when I get a not-terrible picture of her.
